How do I get a Working with Children Clearance (WWCC)?

Each Australian state and territory runs its own Working with Children Check, here's details on where to get the process for your state of territory.

If you are enrolled in the SIS40221 Certificate IV in Fitness a WWCC is a mandatory requirement before completing any practical tasks associated with the unit of competency SISFFIT045 -Develop and instruct personalised exercise programs for adolescent clients.

A WWCC must be obtained prior to participating in any practical placement or client-facing activity involving adolescent clients.

There is no single national Working with Children Check (WWCC) in Australia. Each state and territory administers its own scheme with different names, fees, validity periods, and application processes. You must apply in the state or territory where the child-related work will take place.

For information on screening check requirements for your state or territory and the link to apply, please refer to the Australian Institute of Family Studies resource: Pre-employment and volunteer screening checks.
